Mr. Holm, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin and Masters degrees in Education Administration and Public Policy from Nicholls State and Georgetown University, respectively, brings over 25 years of teaching, coaching and administrative experience to Kinkaid. Mr. Holm has truly “done it all”, serving as a public school athletic director and dean of students, athletic director at two highly regarded, academically rigorous Washington, D.C. area independent schools, head football and head girls basketball coach at the high school level, assistant head football coach in college, assistant coach for USA Football and advanced placement government teacher. Mr. Holm comes to Kinkaid from Landon School, an all-boys independent school in Bethesda, Maryland, where he is in his sixth year serving as Director of Athletics and teaching history. In his current role, Mr. Holm oversees more than 60 teams from grades 3 – 12. During Mr. Holm’s tenure at Landon, the Bears have won 18 Interstate Athletic Conference Championships and one Founder’s Cup Championship, awarded to the school with overall excellence in athletics. Landon’s lacrosse team is often nationally ranked and finished second in the country in 2015. Additionally, Landon has had 59 students play NCAA athletics in the last three years, and 18 members of the Class of 2017 (20%) have already committed to play college sports. Mr. Holm’s colleagues at Landon offered glowing recommendations, describing him as an extremely well respected, knowledgeable educator who possesses great integrity and enthusiasm.

With the assistance of The Finney Search Group, we launched an extensive national search to find our next Director of Athletics and Physical Education. From a pool of over 200 applicants, we conducted phone interviews with approximately 15 candidates and then invited six semi-finalists to campus for a full day of interviews. Three finalists returned to Kinkaid earlier this month for a two-day visit; parents, students, faculty and staff, administrators and trustees met with the finalists. After this thorough and inclusive process, Mr. Holm clearly emerged as the leading candidate to be our new Director of Athletics and Physical Education.
