Dr. Grayson Bryant

Dr. Grayson Bryant joined Norfolk Academy as Assistant Headmaster for Development in 2016. Dr. Bryant came from Trinity-Pawling School, an independent school for boys in Pawling, New York, where he was Director
of Advancement. However, he was not a newcomer to Norfolk Academy. From 2004-2006, Dr. Bryant taught Spanish, led our exchange program
with a school in Madrid, and coached football, baseball, and tennis.  After graduating from Cate School in California, he earned a degree in Spanish from University of Richmond and a master’s degree in Spanish Literature from University of Texas at Austin.

In 2010, he earned his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Organizations from University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Bryant started his professional career as a Spanish teacher at Henrico County High School
in Richmond, where he taught upper level language and International Baccalaureate classes, and continued his Spanish teaching at University of Texas at Austin and, of course, at Norfolk Academy.  Dr. Bryant returned to Cate School, and during his six years there, he served in an array of positions including Director of the Cate Fund and Reunion Giving, Director
of Major Gifts, and Assistant Director of Advancement while also teaching Spanish. During his four years at Trinity Pawling School as Director of Advancement, Dr. Bryant led the school’s development, alumni, and advancement efforts.  Dr. Bryant and his wife Beth have two sons,
Gray '27 and Drew '28.
