PLACING TRANSFORMATIVE LEADERS
Into Independent Schools
What We Do
The Finney Search Group was originally founded to serve independent schools by providing faculty recruitment and leadership search services, particularly with teacher-coach candidates who inspire young people in all phases of life.
We remain committed to our original mission, and our growth has positioned us to support candidates and leadership positions beyond this original model. As a Head of School Search Firm, over 30% of our retained searches involve Heads of School or Division/School Heads.
The Finney Search Group has also developed a special expertise in athletics, whether for placing teacher-coaches, athletic directors, coaches, or similar staff positions.
The common denominator remains our desire to discover and place authentic leaders into school communities who inspire students and colleagues.
How We're Different
Our former roles as Heads of School are not the reason for our success. We succeed because we are accomplished search and placement executives with a proven history of success.
Our industry-leading retention success rates are a result of listening carefully to our clients' requirements and understanding how to find great leaders.
NO UPFRONT FEES
We do not charge an upfront subscription fee as some firms do. We won't inundate you with multiple candidates that are not fully suited to the position you need filled.
ADVICE & SUPPORT
We provide personal guidance, advice, and support before, during, and long after the search process. The result is successful placements and repeat engagements.
SPECIALTY IN ATHLETICS
Our firm enjoys a unique advantage in the field of athletics. We're committed to the Teacher-Coach Model, and over 25% of our total retained searches have been for Athletic Director positions.
TOTAL TEAM APPROACH
Our small size enables us to execute our Total Team Approach, where all 4 partners work together for our clients, concluding with a successful match.
"The Finney Search Group is comprised of special people. Bo, Sherm, Chris, Trey and Carol have impressive backgrounds that allow them to understand the needs of the institution and its stakeholders. They are passionate about contributing to the development of leaders within the independent school landscape, and while their leadership experiences and network across independent schools run deep, they aren't afraid to seek out candidates from different backgrounds. They were genuine in wanting to understand my professional journey and aspirations to identify fit, and they put people first. My family and I are grateful to them for helping us find our opportunity at Westminster."
