Johnnie Foreman

Consultant

Johnnie has been a teacher/coach for over 47 years. After 10 years working in the Baltimore City Public School System, Johnnie joined Gilman School (Baltimore, MD) in 1984 as a teacher of Biology and Physical Education and as a Coach of football and track. He was the Head Track Coach for 36 years, winning numerous Coach of the Year Awards and team championships.  The recipient of many faculty awards, Johnnie’s most recent administrative role at Gilman was as Director of Community, Inclusion, and Equity.

In his role as CIE Director, he received the prestigious Diversity Practitioner of the Year Award from the NAIS in 2014, where he also served as a faculty member of NAIS’s Diversity Leadership Institute.

Johnnie is involved in the greater Baltimore City community as well, having served as President of the Douglass High School Alumni Association as well as serving on the boards of Outward Bound and the Middle Grades Partnership. He is also a consultant for various independent schools.
