Associate A.D. for Resource Management, SMU Athletics
Mark Daus returned to SMU in February 2025 as Associate Athletic Director for Resource Management. In this newly created role, he oversees internal functions related to House Settlement/Revenue Sharing, managing the planning, evaluation, tracking, and distribution of revenue share payments to student-athletes. He also collaborates with SMU’s Office of Business & Finance to ensure compliance with NCAA and university reporting guidelines.
Daus brings extensive experience in financial planning and operations. Before rejoining SMU, he served as Vice President of Finance for the Houston Dynamo Football Club, where he led the finance team in budget analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting. Prior to that, he was SMU’s Assistant A.D. for Business & Finance from 2021 to 2024.
His career includes four years at the University of California, Berkeley, where he managed a $105 million athletics budget, oversaw forecasting, conducted statistical analysis, and handled NCAA and EADA financial reporting. He also worked in corporate finance as a lead financial planning analyst at Stryker Corporation and as a consultant at Boost Healthcare Consulting.
A former collegiate athlete, Daus played soccer at Santa Clara University, where he was a three-time All-West Coast Conference First-Team selection and team captain. He graduated from the Leavey School of Business with a degree in finance.
A native of Plano, Texas, Daus now resides in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
