
SHANNON SOARES
Director of Athletics, The Westminster Schools
A former NCAA Division I student-athlete at William & Mary, Shannon went on to get her Master's in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville. After a decade of coaching and leading programs at both Virginia Commonwealth University and Georgetown University, Shannon moved into administration, serving as the Associate Athletic Director for Administration & Varsity Sports at Georgetown. In her role she oversaw nine varsity sport programs and was responsible for the coach development of all 90+ coaches across 30 varsity sports on the Hilltop. Shannon created and implemented Georgetown Athletic's Annual Coaches Summit as well as the Coaches Leadership Institute (CLI) aimed at equipping coaches with resources to help them navigate the ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics. Post her time on Hilltop, Shannon moved into consulting for the Sportsology Group, leading project strategy and operations across their many clients within professional sport at the NFL, NBA, MLS, EPL and NWSL levels.
Shannon has just recently been named as the next Director of Athletics for The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA, whose athletic program was recently ranked #1 in the U.S. (including both private and public schools) by MaxPreps. Previously, Shannon served as a Senior Director for Bloom Sports Partners, a startup venture aimed at providing people-first transformational advisory and search to high-growth professional sports organizations and leagues. In her role with Bloom, she led discovery and auditing across all advisory projects and clients, and partners with ownership, Presidents, and General Managers to build near, mid and long term aspirational strategies for sporting operations arms of their respective organizations. In addition, she led search and placement services for key leadership vacancies across high performing global sport with an intent to elevate the standard of talent across the industry and various markets.
